Dear Fellow Minnesotan:
I am running for Governor because Minnesotans deserve a state government that works for them. There has been too little executive leadership in St. Paul for too long, and the state you and I love is starting to fall behind. Minnesota needs someone to get our economy moving again, to make our schools and universities the envy of the nation, and to provide quality, affordable health care for everyone. We need a governor whose policies extend beyond the current fiscal year, a leader with a plan and vision to keep Minnesota’s future bright. I believe I have what it takes to get the job done, and I’m ready to go to work for you.

Minnesota was once a leader in so many ways; now we are too often lagging and falling behind. Whereas Minnesota's economy used to lead the nation, today it is our unemployment rate. Family incomes have fallen, as too many good paying jobs have disappeared. Once our state government provided some of the best, most comprehensive citizen services in the country; today we face more cutbacks and fees than ever. Minnesota deserves better.

The challenges facing us today are critical, and they are likely to become even more difficult in the years ahead.
